As anticipated by many Apple announced the iPhone SE today. A powerful and compact phone with no compromises in an all too familiar form factor. Yes it is essentially an iPhone 5s with new internals despite the rumoured iPhone 6-like curved chassis.
The iPhone SE features the same A9 processor as the iPhone 6s line, a 12MP iSight camera with 4K video recording capabilities, a 1.2MP FaceTime camera, and Touch ID with Apple Pay capabilities. Like it’s larger sibling the iPhone 6s it will come in 4 different colour options: Silver, Space Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold. Apple retains the 16GB base model, with there being a 64GB model for those wanting more storage.
Pre-orders for the iPhone SE begin on March 24th in Canada, with the 16GB going for $579 and the 64GB at $709.
